She was born May 8, 1917 in Nettleboro, AL. Mrs. Jones was a member of Hurley United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday school and played the piano for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Woodie E. and Anna Leona Davis; husband, Willie L. "Tebo" Jones; son, Willie Ed Jones; sisters, Clydia Glaskox, Leola Jones, Marion Keith and Olga Rubino; granddaughter, Karen Annette Jones; grandson, Clinton Jones and great grandson, Kevin Emerson. Survivors include sons and daughters in law, Royce Lane (Margie) Jones and Steve Lance (Connie) Jones; daughter and son in law, Sybil Karen Jones (Donald) Dowdy all of Hurley, MS. 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation for Mrs. Jones will be 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at Hurley United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 10, 2012 from the church with Rev. David Henderson officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to service time. Interment will follow at Magnolia Springs Cemetery in Hurley. Pallbearers will be her grandsons Clay Jones, Kyle Jones, Lane Miley, Kyles McDuffie, Jake Goff and Daylan Phillips. She attended State Teachers School (now Radford University) and in 1932 began a 35 year career in a one room school house in Tazewell, Va. After becoming a long time resident of Salem, Ruby retired from Broad Street Elementary School, Salem, Va. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Charles T. Suiter. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ruth and James Francis; son and daughter-in-law, Charles G. and Sylvia Renick Suiter; grandchildren, Laura Francis, Stephen and wife, Jeanie Francis, and Jennifer and husband, Frank Giannini; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 24, 2008 at Sherwood Memorial Park, Abbey Chapel, conducted by the Reverend W. W. Huff, a longtime family friend. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Harley T. Curry; six brothers, Peter, Charles, Wilburn, Kiah, James, and Lunsford Mullins; and three sisters, Garnite Adams, Parlee Browning, and Evelyn York. Survivors include four sons, James ?JK? (Janie) Gillman of Ridgeview, Tom Curry of Frazier Bottom, David (Regina) Curry, and John ?Melinda? Curry, both of Ottawa; one special granddaughter, Misty Dawn Gillman; one sister, Lorene Phillips of Cow Creek; 19 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was the widow of the late Lon Buell Honaker. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Betty Slaughter and infant Ann Nadine Honaker; infant great grandson, Samuel Ein Altizer and great granddaughter, Jessica Altizer; four sisters and eight brothers.
