OBITUARY

Glasgow, Va.---Mrs. Arcie Honaker Bolding Hale,89, of Glasgow Va. formerly of Buchanan and Tazewell counties in Virginia., died Friday June 2 1995 at a Salem Va. retirement center.

She was born in Buchanan County Va. and was a daughter of the late Ezra and Jenny Chambers Honaker. She had made her home in the Buchanan and Tazewell counties most of her life before moving to Salem nine years ago. She was of the Pentecostal faith.

She was preceded in death by her first husband--Jack Bolding and her second husband Holland Hale.

Survivors are two daughters--Ruby Nell Bolding Thorpe and husband George of Franklin Tenn. and Helen Bolding Talbott and husband William of Glasgow Va; one son J. T. Bolding of Bloxom Va; three sisters--Naomi Honaker Arnold of Watsworth Ohio--Alafair Honaker Alexander of Greenville South Carolina and Nellie Honaker Duncan of Chesterfield Va;one brother--Carlos Honaker of Ozark Ala; 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at eleven Monday June 5 1995 at the Clinch Valley Memorial Cemetery in Richlands Va.

OBITUARY

Oma Sisk Arnold, 89, of Wadsworth passed away peacefully Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013, with Linda and Pat at her side when she heard Father's call to come home to be with him and her loved ones who were waiting for her.

She was born Dec. 29, 1923, to Ezra W. and Jennie (née Chambers) Honaker.

She was preceded in death by husbands, Audra B. Sisk and Delmar W. Arnold; her parents; nine brothers and sisters; and daughter, Frances Ann Gillespie.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda (Mrs. James H. Helton) Streets of Ashland; three grandchildren, William (Sinit) Streets and granddaughter Napasi Orlai of Columbus, Timothy Gillespie and Kimberly Gillespie, five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, all of Colorado.; and very good friends, Pat Shawhan and Emery Miller.

There will be no calling hours. Graveside services will take place 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 27, 2013, at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 2580 Romig Road, Akron.

OBITUARY

Mr. J.T. Bolding, 80, husband of Charlotte A. Bolding, of Modest Town, passed away on July 27, 2015, at his residence.

Born on September 21, 1934, in Shortts Gap, VA, he was the son of the late Vernon Dewitt Bolding and Arcie Honaker Bolding. J.T. served in the U.S. Air Force in France and Libya during the Korean War and was an insurance agent with Home Beneficial Life Insurance Company for many years. He was a charter member of the Eastern Shore Anglers Club, a National U.S. Surfcasting champion, and a deacon and former men?s Sunday School teacher at Modest Town Baptist Church.

J.T. was known for his quick smile, his jovial nature, and his unwavering faith in Jesus as his Savior. Although a native of the mountains of Virginia, the beaches of the Eastern Shore became his true home. Under the guidance of Filmore Bundick and Wilson Wessells when J.T. first came to the Shore, he became an expert fisherman and shared his passion for surf fishing with people from all over the country.

Other than his wife, Charlotte, J.T. is survived by a daughter, Tammy B. Parks and husband, Marshall, of Modest Town; a son, Robert D. Bolding, of Modest Town; two sisters, Helen B. Talbot of Lexington, VA, and Ruby B. Thorpe and husband, George, of Franklin, TN; a grandson, Eric L. Bolding, of Pocomoke; three great-grandchildren, Angel, E.J and Jaden Bolding; a sister-in-law, Betsy Y. Whealton and husband, Howard; and three nephews, Spencer Whealton, Vernon Neese and Gregory Neese.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his nephew James B. "Jim" Neese and niece Kaye N. Henderson.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 30th, at 3:00 PM from the Modest Town Baptist Church with Rev. John Cullop officiating. Interment will follow in the Modest Town Baptist Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Thornton Funeral Home in Parksley.

Tivis was born April 10, 1931 to the late Elihu Armes and Virgie Honaker in Tazewell County, Virginia. Mr. Armes retired from the U.S Army as a Master Sgt. after 31 years of dedicated service.

OBITUARY

Curtis Arms, age 77, of Raven, Virginia, passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2013 in a Bristol, Tennessee hospital following a lengthy illness.

He was born in Marvin, Virginia and was the son of the late Elihu and Vergie Honaker Arms. Curtis worked as a coal miner for 42 years. He retired as a section foreman with Pittston Coal Company. He lived all his life in the Raven, Virginia area. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He will be missed by all who knew him and loved him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Ricky Arms; one grandson, Anthony Kane Arms; and four brothers, Junior Arms, Tivis Arms, Darris Arms and Dallas Arms.

Those who survive him are:
His Wife, June Wells Arms, three Sons Gary Arms and wife, Karen of Cedar Bluff, Virginia; Tony Arms and wife, Kim of Bandy, Virginia; Craig Arms and wife, Davina of Swords Creek, Virginia; daughter-in-law, Janice Arms of Richlands, Virginia; five sisters Mable Boyd of Raven, Virginia; Betty Deel and husband, Marcus of Pounding Mill, Virginia; Dorothy Hylton and husband, Andrew of Chicago, Illinois; Wanda Richardson and husband, Don of Swords Creek, Virginia;
Alice Arms of Pounding Mill, Virginia; two brothers Ralph Arms and wife, Kay of Pounding Mill, Virginia; Tommy Arms and wife, Gaynelle of Cedar Bluff, Virginia. Eleven Grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren also survive along with a host of family and friends.

OBITUARY

Darris Raymond Arms, age 71 of Cedar Bluff, Virginia, passed away Monday, December 27, 2010 at his home surrounded by his family. Born September 21, 1939 in Tazewell County, Virginia he was the son of the late Elihu and Virgie Honaker Arms. He was a retired coal miner for Jewell Smokeless.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Junior Arms and Dallas Arms.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy Arms; one daughter, Sherri Bailey and husband Doug of Belfast, VA; two sons, Scottie Ball and wife Sabrina and Frankie Ball and fiancée Edna both of Richlands, VA; five sisters, Mabel Boyd of Fork Ridge, VA, Dorothy Hylton and husband Andrew of Chicago, IL, Betty Deel and husband Marcus of Pounding Mill, VA, Wanda Richardson and husband Donald of Pine Creek, VA, and Alice Minnie Arms of Claypool Hill, VA; four brothers, Ralph Armes and wife Kay of Pounding Mill, VA; Curtis Arms and wife June of Raven, VA, Tivis Arms and wife Louise of Leesville, LA and Tommy Arms and wife Gaynell of Cedar Bluff, VA; four grandchildren, Johnathan Murphy, Kayla Bailey, Scottie Ball, Jr., and Denissa Ball; special brother-in-law, Louis (Bud) Lester; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Alex and Nancy Bartley and employees of Giovanni's.

OBITUARY

Tommy Armes, age 70, of Cedar Bluff, Virginia passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at his home following a lengthy illness.

He was born in Tazewell County, Virginia and was the son of the late Elihu and Virgie Honaker Arms. He was a U. S. Army Vietnam War Veteran. He was a retired coal miner with Island Creek Coal Corporation. He was a lifelong resident of the area. Tommy was a big Richlands High School sports follower.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy Ann Hylton; and five brothers, Junior Arms, Tivis Arms, Darris Arms, Dallas Arms, and Curtis Arms.

Those who survive him are his Wife, Gaynell Cordle Armes;daughters Tammy Armes and husband, William Smith of Christiansburg, Virginia, Crystal Armes and husband, Phillip Scott of Oakton, Virginia; four sisters Mable Boyd of Raven, Virginia, Betty Deel and husband, Markus of Pounding Mill, Virginia, Wanda Richardson of Swords Creek, Virginia, Alice Arms of Pounding Mill, Virginia; brother Ralph Arms and wife, Kay of Pounding Mill, Virginia; grandchildren, Samantha Scott and Madison Scott; special grand pups, Karst, Blake and Clay, and deveral nieces and nephews also survive along with a host of family and friends.

Funeral services for Tommy Armes will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Friday, March 8, 2013 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Rick Blevins officiating. Interment will follow at the Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, Virginia. Members of the Casey-Shortt VFW Post #9640 will conduct military graveside rites. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 6 pm- 9 pm Thursday evening at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia.
