    OBITUARY

    Greensboro Daily News; Greensboro, NC; 02 July 1917

    Mrs. Mary Jane Craven, daughter of Alfred Ledbetter Yow and Martha Jane Boling Yow, died yesterday morning at 10:30 o'clock, at her home on Railroad Street.

    She was 58 years of age.

    The funeral will be held today at the residence. The services are to be conducted by, Rev. Fred E. Smith, of the Friends church. The burial will be made in the cemetery at Asheboro.

    Mrs. Craven was born near Asheboro, 24 January 1859. Her husband was E. S. Craven.

    They had one son who died in infancy.

    She moved to Greensboro in 1904, and became a member of the Friends church.

    She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Martitia L. Yow and Wincy Adeline Yow Richardson.

    OBITUARY

    ASHEBORO - Mr. Cecil Brown Yow, 90, of Asheboro, died Saturday, May 7, 2011, at Cross Road Rest and Retirement Community. A funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Holder and the Rev. George Roberson officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill UMC Cemetery with military honors to be provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard.

    A native of Seagrove, Mr. Yow was born June 10, 1920. He was the son of the late Orlendo Yow and Jennie Lee Brown Yow. He was retired from Randolph Oil, a member of First United Methodist Church and a member of American Legion Post #45. In addition to his parents, Mr. Yow was preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy Burrows Yow. Mr. Yow served in the US Navy during World War II.

    Mr. Yow is survived by his wife, Allene Little Yow of the home; daughters, Leslie Yow, of Asheboro, and her husband, Ray Criscoe, and their children, Dallas and Connor, and Betsy Yow Watson, of Winterville, and her son, Corey; stepdaughter, Nancy Graves, of Asheboro; stepsons, Roger Little of Seagrove, Jerry Little of Farmer, NC.

    The family will receive friends from 7 - 9 p.m. Wednesday, at Ridge Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 224 North Fayetteville Street, Asheboro, NC 27203, American Legion Post #45, 419 Lanier Avenue, Asheboro, NC 27203, or American Red Cross, PO Box 4002018, Des Moines, IA 50340-2018.
