    Notes:

Hunt and often spelled his name as Huntris

He resided in that part of Dover which in 1713 became Newington

He was highway surveyor for Bloody Point side and a soldier in King William's War [CIT:]King William's War (1689-97), see http://www.usahistory.com/wars/william.htm

He came to America when he was a servant of John Locke.

He is first mentioned in New Hampshire records when he gave bail for his wife Mary, he purchased lands from Lieut. Walter Neale that were] then a part of Portsmouth "November 28, 1679, Walter Neal deeded land to George Huntress."

He deposed probably that he was about 24 years of age. The paper is without a date and relates to a transaction in 1669. The following paper is dated 1670 and as the papers are arranged in nearly chronological order it is likely that the deposition is not of later date than 1670. He was then servant to Capt. Richard Cutt. The deposition contains the name of Mary Knot (?Knott)., Hunt, aged 35 years, deposed he was a living with John Locke of Hampton as his servant 13 years before, He purchased from James and John Leach land which was granted to their father by the town of Portsmouth, was taxed, signed the petition of New Hampshire Settlers to the Governor of Massachusetts.

He signed the petition "of the Inhabitants of Bloody Point within the limits of Dover" for a separate Parish of Newington, In a trial of Mr. Richard Cutt's Servants, George (Hunt) testified that he was 24 years of age. The maid, Mary Nott or Knat was said to have brought money from Old England,

George and Mary's eldest son and daughter are named after their father and mother, respectively; the second son, Samuel, received a name presumably for his paternal uncle; the third son, John, received a name presumably for his maternal grandfather. Of George and Mary's sons:
George's first son and daughter, Christopher and Elizabeth, were named possibly for their paternal great uncle and aunt, Christian and Elizabeth, respectively; and John's second daughter, Tamsin, was named presumably for her paternal great grandmother.

    Will:
19 Aug 1715 wife Mary, sons George, eldest, then dead, Samuel and John, daughter Abigail, and children of George, viz: Christopher, eldest son, George, youngest son, and daughters Elizabeth, Deborah and Sarah.

He devised to his sons Samuel and John jointly 150 acres on the Long Reach of the Piscataqua where he was then living and to the sons of his son George, then dead, to George 40 acres in Portsmouth constituting the southerly part of the testator's farm, subject to a life estate to his widow, and to Christopher3 all the rest of his real estate.

    Died:
