The Paris News, Thursday, 23 May 1991

Barbara Askew, 99, formerly of Delta County, died Tuesday May 22, at the Haltom City Convalescent Center. Services were held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, at the Lucas Funeral Home Chapel in Hurst. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. at the Oaklawn Cemetery in Cooper. Delta Funeral Home has charge of local arrangements.

Mrs. Askew was born in Big Stone Gap, Va. Surviving are a daughter, Jean Tharp of North Richland Hills; two sons, Marion Askew of Haltom City and Odell Askew of Paris; 17 grandchildren, and 16 great grand-children, She was preceded in death by her husband, William, in 1980, and two sons, Hollis Askew and Worley Askew.
