OBITUARY

COALWOOD ? Frederick G. "Grandad" Beavers, age 83, of Coalwood, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2011, at Princeton Community Hospital in Princeton. Born April 16, 1928 in Caretta, he was the son of the late James and Hazel Hunt Beavers.

He retired from Olga Coal Company after 40 years. He was a member of the Berwind Masonic Lodge #141. He enjoyed working in his work shop and giving unofficial "Rocket Boys" tours of Coalwood to tourist.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother and four sisters.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Virginia E. (Jenny) Smith Beavers; three daughters, Mrs. Roger (Vickie) Gilman of Coalwood, Ms. Terri Sokolow of Bristol, Va. and Ms. Toni Robbins of Coalwood; six grandchildren, Tara Helton and Ashley Gilman, both of Huntington, W.Va., Tasha Foy of Bristol, Va., Joshua Sokolow of Madrid, Spain and Jeremy and Jacob Robbins, both of Huntington, W.Va.; and seven great-grandchildren, Ryan and Haley Helton, Oliver and Lucy-Claire Foy and Levi and Dylan Followay and Sophie Robbins; one sister, Margie B. Jones of Chesterfield, Va.

The family will receive friends on Monday, May 23, 2011 at the Coalwood United Methodist Church in Coalwood from 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at the church on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Joe Moore officiating, and there will be no interment.

The family will receive friends at the home following the service.

Thurel T. Beavers

Thurel T. Beavers, 82, of Kent, died Saturday, October 10, 2009, with his family by his side at Kent Ridge at Golden Pond.

He was born September 30, 1927, in Squire, W.Va. to John Bandy and Anna Belle (Beavers) Beavers. He retired from Chrysler after 30 years of service. Thurel was a member of the Kent Moose Lodge and the United Auto Workers. He enjoyed sports especially football and baseball.

The family would like to thank the staff at Kent Ridge at Golden Pond for their loving care and thoughtfulness.

He is survived by sons, Douglas (Michelle) Beavers of Munroe Falls and Rob (Cathy) Beavers of Massillon; daughters, Beverly (Brian) Jones of Akron and Pam (David) Wilson of Kent; twelve grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, R. Earl Beavers of Wildwood, Fla.; sisters, Lucille Jones of Leesburg, Fla., and Delores Jones of Leesburg, Fla.; and aunt, Wilma Gillespie of Vincent. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Ruth Beavers; parents, John Bandy and Anna Belle (Beavers) Beavers; brothers, Mason Beavers and John Bandy Beavers Jr.; and sister, Hilda Beavers.

OBITUARY

Claudia B. Kinder, age 77, of Cedar Bluff, Virginia passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at Heritage Hall in Tazewell, Virginia.

She was born in Richlands, Virginia and was the daughter of the late Lans and Elsie Beavers. She was a retired LPN for the former Mattie Williams Hospital and Clinch Valley Medical Center in Richlands, Virginia. She lived all her life in the Cedar Bluff area and was a member of the New Beginnings Church in Cedar Bluff. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister.

She is survived by:

Benny Dale Kinder and wife, Mary of Richlands, Virginia
Keith A. Kinder and wife, Tracey of Richlands, Virginia

One Sister:
Mrs. Gail Evans of Jellico, Tennessee

Three Brothers:
Dennis Beavers and wife, Loreda of Dayton, Ohio
Clyde Beavers and wife Carolyn of Dayton, Ohio
Bucky Beavers and wife, Margaret of Dayton, Ohio

Three Grandchildren:
Jeffery Allen Kinder, Brian Keith Kinder, Christopher Adam Kinder

One Great Granddaughter:

Funeral services for Claudia B. Kinder will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with Rev. Danny Houchins officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens at Bluefield, Virginia. Grandsons and Relatives will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call Friday evening from 6:00 pm ? 9:00 pm at Hurst-Scott Funeral Home; 1401 Second Street; Richlands, Virginia.
