NORTH TAZEWELL, Va. ? James Carlos Chambers, 79, of North Tazewell, went to be with the Lord Friday, March 3, 2006.

Born Feb. 16, 1927 in Raven, Va., he was a son of the late Don Carlos Chambers and Mary Bowers Chambers. He was a member of the Adria Advent Christian Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Pearl Ianuzzi, Helen Poff, and Nannie Mae Flanagin; and two brothers, Dewey Chambers and George Chambers.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Bowling Chambers; one son, James L. Chambers of North Tazewell; three granddaughters; one great grandson; two brothers, Andrew Chambers and wife Joyce and Donald Chambers and wife Janice, all of North Tazewell; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, March 6, 2006 at Peery & St.Clair Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell, Va. with the Rev. Don Elswick officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, Va.

Pallbearers will be Junior Flanagin, Doug Flanagin, Wayne Flanagin, Greg Whitt, Robbie Swim and Vance (Bubby) Swim. Honorary pallbearer is Scott Chambers.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-9 p.m. today, March 5, 2006.

OBITUARY

Andrew David Chambers, age 77 of Cavitt?s Creek Rd. in North Tazewell, VA passed away Sunday, April 18, 2010 at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, TN. Born May 22, 1932 in Raven, VA, he was a son of the late Carlos and Mary B. Chambers.

For the past eight years, Mr. Chambers along with his wife, Joyce were in charge of the boat rentals at Cavitt?s Creek Park-Lake Witten. Even though he did not have the opportunity to serve his country in the Armed Forces, he had great admiration for those who did. He was always eager to help the various veterans? organizations and on many occasions he would take time to help in placing flags on the graves of local veterans.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Dewey Chambers, James Chambers, and George Chambers; three sisters, Pearl Inutizzi, Nannie Mae Flannagan, and Helen Poff.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Joyce Riddle Chambers; one daughter, Toni Gale Beavers, two sons, David T. Chambers and Jason C. Chambers and wife, Sherry; and a very special adopted daughter, Maggie Mae; one brother, Donald C. Chambers; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Peery & St. Clair Funeral Home in Tazewell, VA from 12:00 noon until 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 21, 2010. Graveside services will immediately follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Tazewell, VA with Pastor Arthur Mitchell officiating.

Pallbearers will be Jason Chambers, David Chambers, Wayne Flannagan, Donald Chambers, Jerry Chambers, and Randell Beavers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jim Dishman, Eddie Hankins, and Buddy Flannagan.

Born May 10, 1935 at Raven, VA, he was a son of the late Carl and Mary Bowers Chambers. He was a longtime member of the Church of God. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Rachel Chambers; one son, Roy Chambers; three sisters, Nannie Mae Flannigan, Pearl Innuci, and Helen Poff; four brothers, Andrew Chambers, James Chambers, George Chambers, and Dewey Chambers.

He is survived by his wife, Janice Chambers; one daughter, Amanda Grace Chambers of North Tazewell, VA; two sons, Raymond Scott Chambers and wife, Tina of Marion, VA and Kenneth Ray Chambers of North Carolina; daughter in law, Lori Chambers of North Tazewell, VA; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM Monday, March 11, 2013 at Peery & St. Clair Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell, VA with the Reverend Adam Frye officiating. Wayne Douglas Flanagin, 68 of the Gratton community in Tazewell, VA died Monday, April 4, 2016 at Carilion Tazewell Community Hospital. Born August 4, 1947 in Tazewell County, VA, he was a son of the late Raymond and Nannie Mae Chambers Flanagin. He was a US Marine Corps Veteran of the Vietnam War. Wayne was a former coal miner, member of the UMWA, and also formerly worked with the Tazewell County PSA.
