OBITUARY

Nellie Teaford Wood, 80, of Flatwoods, Ky, died Tuesday, August 7, 2012, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital.

She was born June 21, 1932, in Roanoke, Va, a daughter of the late Jacob and Bessie Reed Teaford. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Mason Todd Wood; a son, William Alex Wood; and a granddaughter, Anita Leann Wood.

Mrs. Wood was a retired English and Spanish teacher, having taught in Ohio and West Virginia. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Ashland, Ky.

Survivors include her sons, Mark Allen Wood and Andrew Wood; sister, Anna Lee Gadd; grandchildren, Amber, Summer and husband, Greg, Jessica, Lisa, Mark, Jr, Rebecca, Drew, Kimberly and Sara; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, August 10, at Steen Funeral Home Central Avenue by the Rev. John Street. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park, Ashland.
