Walter Herman Heslep Jr., 86, of Fairfield, died Friday, Dec. 7, 2007, at his home.

He was born May 28, 1921, in Fairfield, a son of the late Herman Heslep and Forrest Heslep. He owned and operated a plumbing and heating business, from which he retired in 2003. In his retirement, he continued to have a septic business. He served with the 29th Infantry and 540th Corp of Engineers in World War II from 1942 to 1945. He was a member of Concord Church of the Brethren, and served as a deacon, trustee, and member of the finance board and cemetery committee. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Frances Figgers Heslep.

He is survived by his second wife, Peggy Jennings Heslep; a son, Wayne Heslep of Lexington; a daughter, Evelyn Heslep of Lexington; two stepsons, Bobby Jennings of Fairfield, and Mike Jennings of Fairfield; five stepgrandchildren and two step-greatgrandchildren.

The funeral was conducted Sunday, Dec. 9, at the Harrison Funeral Home chapel, by Rick Labate and the Rev. James Smals. OBITUARY

HAMILTON McCLUNG, Hamilton Lee McClung, 89, of Fairfield, went to be with the Lord Jan. 7, 2013, at his, home.

Born April 25, 1923, in Fairfield, he was a son of the late Dallas Lee McClung and Stella Paynter McClung. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Swisher McClung.

H.L. was a very respectful and loving family man as well as a hardworking man. He was well known by all for his talents. There were too many accomplishments to write about. He was a lifelong farmer who believed in working from sunup until sundown. His church lifelong membership at the Concord Church of the Brethren was very much a part of his life. He worked in many capacities in the church except the ministry, in which he would have done if needed.

Surviving are his wife, of Fairfield; four daughters; two sons; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one stepdaughter; one stepson; three step-grandchildren; and two step-great grandchildren.

The pallbearers and honorary pallbearers are Mark Jones, Billy Weeks, Charlie Henry, Brandon McClung, Joey McClung, Ryan McClung, Lori Bare, Vicki Burkholder, Amber McClung, Dustin Jones, Sean Jones, Ashley Jones, Megan Bare, Tyler Bare, Ethan Weeks, Kari Burkholder, and Autumn Burkholder.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, at Harrison Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Scott Reese and the Rev. Carl Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Fairfield Cemetery. Family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, at Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory.

Terry Scott Fitzgerald, 56, of Raphine, died Friday, December 1, 2006. He was born August 26, 1950 in Lexington, a son of Wilbur Newel Fitzgerald and Emma Eakin Fitzgerald.

He is survived by a daughter, Tracy A. Harris of Waynesboro; two grandchildren: Brinkley Harris and Alec Harris; two sisters: Carol St. Clair of Fairfield and Connie Groah of Steeles Tavern; a brother, Donnie Fitzgerald of Fairfield.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at the Harrison Funeral Chapel with Rev. Francis Funk officiating.

Arrangements are being handled by the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, VA.
