OBITUARY

Rev. Ralph Shelba Horton was born May 26, 1935, in Swords Creek, Virginia. He was the son of the late Rev. Grat and Chorilda Horton. He went home to glory December, 19th, 2013 being 78 years of age.

Rev. Ralph Horton was the Senior Pastor of the Richlands Tabernacle since 1971. He gave his life to serving his Lord spreading the Gospel to any who would hear. He will be missed by a host of family and friends.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Debra Elaine Horton Roberts. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Thelma Horton Osborne and one brother, Christopher Aaron "Mack" Horton.

Those who remain to carry on his spirit are His loving wife of 58 years, Doris Boyd Horton of Richlands, VA; Daughter, Dana Horton Walls and husband Randall of Richlands, VA; son-in-law, Rev. Gary Michael Roberts of Cedar Bluff, VA; his sisters Mozell Horton Cordle of Richlands, VA, Naomi Horton Ray of Richlands, VA, Patricia Horton Jeanelle and husband Danny of Pounding Mill, VA, Sharon Roberts of Richlands, VA; his brothers Don Horton and wife Betty of Richlands, VA, Rev. David Horton and wife Brenda of Cedar Bluff, VA, Rev. James Horton and wife Greta of Richlands, VA, Rev. Phillip Horton and wife Carolyn of Richlands, VA; his five grandchildren Rev. Funeral services for Rev. Ralph Horton will be conducted at the Richlands Tabernacle on Saturday, December 21st, at 1:00 pm with the Rev. Mike Roberts, Rev. Neil Bridges, Rev. Bob Osborne and his grandsons officiating.

Entombment will follow at the Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Rev. Adam Cordle, Rev. Billy Gillespie, Rev. Brett Houston, Rev. Dale Keene, Rev. Steve Kiser, Rev. Tim Lester, Rev. Johnny Rex Ward and Rev. Stuart Cole. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of the Richlands Tabernacle Church.

Thelma(Horton)Osborn,51,of Kents Ridge section of Richlands,Va.died in a Richlands hospital.She was born in Raven,VA.and was the daughter of the Rev.Grat and Chorilda Ann(Whited)Horton.

She was a lifelong resident of the Richlands area, she was a 1955 graduate of Richlands High School and was a monitor of Richlands Tabernacle Christian Academy. She was a member and Sunday school teacher at Richlands Tabernacle.

Survivors are her husband Rev. Robert Osborn, three daughters Mrs. Larry(Beth)Skinner, Mrs. Michael (Rebecca) Harmon and Debra Osborn; four sisters Mrs. Rufus(Naomi)Ray, Mrs. Dan(Patricia)Jennelle, Mrs. Junior(Mozelle) Cordle and Mrs. Danny(Sharon)Roberts;six brothers--Don Horton, Christopher "MAC" Horton, Rev. Mr. Christopher Aaron "Mack" Horton, age 64, of Richlands, Virginia was born November 30, 1943 in the Pine Creek Section of Russell County, Virginia passed from this life surrounded by his loving wife and family at Tazewell Community Hospital, Tazewell, Virginia, Sunday, September 21, 2008.

He was the son of the late Rev. Grat Marvin & Chorilda Ann Whited Horton. He Was Preceded In Death by his maternal grandparents, Preston Fipps and Eunice England Elkins Whited; his paternal grandparents, Christopher Mays and Grace Chambers Horton; sister, Thelma Horton Osborne; mother-in-law, Goldie Cole Breeding; sister-in-law, Virginia Renie Crigger Horton; and brother-in-laws, John Cordle Jr. & Danny Lee Roberts.

He Was A Former Employee Of Mattie Williams Hospital & Clinch Valley Clinic Hospital. He Was a disabled employee Of S&S Machinery Corporation and was a member Of The Richlands Tabernacle. He was an avid outdoors man who especially loved to fish and hunt and he enjoyed woodworking in his workshop.

He is survived by his wife of 44 Years, Shirley Marie Breeding Horton; daughters Christine Horton Hayton, Of Richlands, VA, Robin Horton, Of the Home; grandson: Samuel Aaron Hayton, Of Richlands, VA; sisters Mozell Horton Cordle, Richlands, VA,Naomi Horton Ray & Husband Rufus, Richlands, VA, Patricia Horton Jennelle & Husband Dan, Pounding Mill, VA, Sharon Horton Roberts, Cedar Bluff, VA; brothers Donald Horton & Wife Betty, Richlands, VA, Rev.
