OBITUARY

U.S. Cemetery and Funeral Home Collection

Mildred Naomi Cauble, 101, passed away at her home in Campbell, Texas on Monday, June 16, 2014.

Mildred was born February 26, 1913 in Merit, Texas to Jack and Agnes Owens. She would work at various jobs and vocations in the community for over seventy-five years. She operated a drill press with her husband at their aluminum fabrication shop well into her eighties.

Mildred is preceded in death by her parents, John and Agnes Owens; brothers, Johnny, Bill and Raymond Owens; sisters, Doris Purkey, Elsie Mae Smith, Lois Morris, Bertina Dorman and Betsy Thulis; daughter, Barbara Lyday; as well as her great-grandson, Dillon Kizer.

Mildred is survived by grandchildren, Mike Lyday and his wife Diane; Terry Kizer and her husband Darin; Kristi Mize and her husband Jackie and Jeff Lyday; eleven great-grandchildren and thirteen great-great grandchildren.A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Prairie Valley Cemetery in Campbell.

Lois J. Morris, 90, of Greenville died the morning of Jan. 18, 2006, at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Saturday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Bob Layman officiating. Burial is at Memoryland Memorial Park.

The son of Kent and Agnes Stinebaugh Owens, she was born March 8, 1915, in Merit. On May 6, 1933, she was married to Vander Dale Morris in Greenville.

Mrs. Morris worked at the Royal Drive-In for 30 years, retiring as its manager. She was a Baptist.

Special thanks go to Dr. James Nicholson and the fourth floor nurses at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville.

Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Tommy Morris of Keatchie, La., and Bill Morris and Florence Rushlow of Kingwood; granddaughters Terri Martin, Shelly and husband Dennis Erwin, Christy Mitchell, Dana Morris, and Kim Krast; three sisters, Bertina Dorman and Mildred Cauble of Greenville and Doris Purkey of Dallas; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Johnny Raymond and Bill Owens; and a daughter-in-law, Saundra Kay Morris.

Pallbearers are Tracy Hooker, Jerry Littlefield, Joel Littlefield, Steve Thulis, Dennis Erwin and David Hale.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Bertina Dorman, 93, of Greenville, died Sunday, November 27, 2011, at Legend Health Care. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, November 29, 2011, at Memoryland Memorial Park, under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Royce Litchfield will officiate. Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Dorman was born in Merit, Texas on January 14, 1918. She was the daughter of Kent W. Owens and Agnes V. Stinebaugh Owens. She married Kirtley Dorman on November 11, 1942. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and was manager at the Royal Drive-In for many years.

She is survived by her daughter, Carol D. Littlefield and husband, Jerry of Greenville; grandsons, Jeffrey Littlefield of Greenville, Jimmy Littlefield of Brunswick, Georgia and Joel Littlefield of Greenville; great-grandchildren, Olivia Littlefield, Javier Littlefield, Joaquin Littlefield, Madison Littlefield and Mackensie Littlefield; and a sister, Mildred Cauble of Campbell. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sisters, Lois Morris, Elsie Mae Smith, Bessie Thulis and Doris Purkey; and brothers, Johnny Owens, Raymond Owens and Bill Owens.

The family would like to thank the staff of Legend Health Care for their love and special care of Mrs. Dorman.

Doris Purkey, 83, of Garland died March 28, 2009, at Doctors Hospital in Dallas. Services are at 1:30 p.m. today in the Coker-Mathews Funeral Home chapel with interment following at Memoryland Memorial Park. Rev. Royce Litchfield will officiate.

Mrs. Purkey was born April 28, 1925, in Merit to Kent and Agnes Stinebaugh Owens. On Oct. 13, 1940, she married Wayne Purkey in Caddo Mills. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Baptist faith.

Her survivors include daughters Beverly Youker and husband Steve of Garland and Linda Youngblood and husband Corbin of Mesquite; two sisters, Bertena Dorman of Greenville and Mildred Cauble of Campbell; grandsons Vince Youngblood of Garland and Michael Youngblood of McKinney; granddaughters Susan Wenzel of Mesquite and Stacy Wells of Garland; great-granddaughters Kourtnee Youngblood of McKinney and Kayla Youngblood of Mesquite; a brother-in-law, Lester Purkey and wife Raye of Arkansas; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter Betty Purkey; sisters Lois Morris, Elsie Mae Smith and Bessie Thulis; and brothers Johnny, Raymond and Bill Owens.
