Iva Lorene Burt, age 99, died Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Hamilton Hospital in Olney, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2012 in the Chapel of Lunn Funeral Home, with Claude Hendricks of Wichita Falls, Texas officiating assisted by Stephen Winner of Olney Assembly of God. Burial will follow in Lyncreek Cemetery near Jermyn, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Iva was born May 19, 1912 in Merritt, Texas, to the late Lemuel Clay and Nancy Anna (Owen) Price. She and Roy W. Burt were married on May 19, 1928 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Iva was a homemaker and a member of Olney Assembly of God. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on August 9 1992, a brother Carl Price, a daughter Lora Mae Wright, a son Troy Leon Burt and four grandchildren: Iva Herebia, Roy Edgar Osborn, Annie Rachel Morgan, and Rodney Allen Burt.

Iva is survived by sons: James Burt of Saginaw, Texas, L.C. Burt and wife Ann of Frisco, Texas; daughters: Dorcas Roach of Electra, Texas, Cora Anderson and husband Edward of Olney, Texas, and Minnie Turner of Frisco, Texas; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren, fourteen great-great grandchildren, and five great-great-great grandchildren.

OBITUARY

Ernest Jay Owens, 85, of Rockwall passed away Feb. 10, 2013, at Presbyterian Hospital of Rockwall. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Coker-Mathews Funeral Home chapel in Greenville with Rev. Eugene Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Merit Cemetery.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Born June 10, 1927, in Merit, Ernest was the son of Robert Cleveland and Mary E. (Tankersley) Owens. On Dec. 17, 1948, in Greenville, he married Bennie Delean Pickens. He was a veteran of the United States Army and worked as a construction worker. He was a member of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his daughters, Brenda Smith and husband Danny of Terrell, Nancy Enos and husband Ricky of Oklahoma City, Okla., Deborah Gutierrez and husband Carlos of Sadler, and Cindy Platt and husband Bobby of Sadler; sister Mary L. Watkins of Temple; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sons Glenn and Bengie Owens, sister Betty Russell, brothers James L. and Edgar Leon Owens, granddaughter Heidi Couch, grandson Andrew Latimer, and great-granddaughter Gabriella Couch.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Dennis, Dalton Moore, Colton Kinsey, Pooh Dennis, Cody Scott, and Ben Dooley. Honorary pallbearer will be Tommy Owens.

OBITUARY

James L. Burt, age 71, died Wednesday, October 3, 2012 in Denton, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 5, 2012 at Lynn Creek Cemetery in Jack County with James Bennett of Los Colinas, Texas officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

James was born on April 4, 1941 to the late Roy W. and Iva Lorene (Price) Burt in Sulfur Springs, Texas. He married Patricia Ann Taylor in Sugarland, Texas on February 14, 1965. They had been married for thirty-five years. She passed away on February 29, 2000. James had been an oilfield consultant, and a licensed pilot. James was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a brother, Troy Leon Burt, and a sister, Lora Mae Wright.

Survivors include two sons: Christopher Todd Burt of Monahans, Texas, and Phillip James of Azle, Texas; two daughters:Joyce "Camille" Bryant and husband Jimmy of Midland, Texas and Cindy Michelle Billings of Freer, Texas; a brother, L.C. Burt and wife Ann of Frisco, Texas; three sisters: Dorcas Roach of Electra, Texas, Cora Henderson and husband Edward of Olney, Texas, and Minnie Turner of Frisco, Texas; seven grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 4, 2012 from 7-8 pm at the funeral home.
