    Doris D. "Butchie" Denna, 85, of Cowen, formerly of Columbus, Ohio, passed away January 4, 2012, at the VA Medical Center, Beckley after an extended illness.

    She was born in Nettie on April 25, 1926, a daughter of the late Cecil Denna and Elsie Bragg Denna. She was also preceded in death by her brother.

    Doris was a member of the United States Army and the United States Navy. She was an operator for AT&T, and was of the Protestant faith.

    Survivors include sons, Ronald "Ron" Sayers of Cowen and Richard Sayers of Oak Hill; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

    Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, January 7, at Adams-Reed Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Carmel Sanson officiating. Burial will follow in Woods Cemetery near Cowen. Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, January 6, at the funeral home.
