Graveside services for Mrs. Connie Teat Shaw will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at East View Cemetery.
The Rev. Ron Craddock and the Rev. J. B. Cantrell will officiate.
Mrs. Shaw, 81, of 92 Lock and Dam Road, S. W., died Monday at a Rome hospital.
She was born in Floyd County, June 23, 1908, daughter of the late M. L. Teat and Argie Duke Teat. She has been a lifeling (lifelong) resident of Floyd County where she was a member of the Bush Arbor Baptist Church and the Ladies Sunday School class.
She had been a member of the Firemen' s Auxiliary. Before retirement, she was employed by Rome Manufacturing Co. as a supervisor.
She was preceded in death by her husband, D. V. Shaw, Dec. 21, 1973, to whom she was married in 1930.
Survivors include: a sister, Ila T. Cook, Rome; a brother, Joseph L. Myrick, Rome; nieces and nephews.

OBITUARY

Joseph Lamar Myrick, age 91, of Rome, passed away at his residence on Thursday, August 07, 2014.
Mr. Myrick was born in Rome on May 09, 1923, son of the late Argie Della Duke Myrick. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Day Myrick.
Mr. Myrick was a WWII veteran serving with honor in the U. S. Army. He started Allied Frozen Foods in 1960 and operated it until he sold it in 1988. Mr. Myrick was a member of the Floyd Springs Masonic Lodge #167 and the Yaarab Shrine/Rome Shrine Club. As a member of the Rome Shrine Club he participated in the Shrine Motor Corp. where he served as a 2nd Lieutenant of the Truck Unit in 2012. He was also a member of Riverside Baptist Church, the American Legion Post #5 and the Low 12 Club. We will miss him often, but remember him fondly.
Survivors include his daughter, Paula Sims and her husband, Ned, Armuchee; two grandsons, Joseph Blake Sims, Armuchee, and Nevin L. Sims and his wife, Karey, Cave Spring; two great-grandchildren, Benton and Corbin Sims; longtime companion, Mildred Waldrop, Rome; a niece, nephews and close friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 11, 2014, at 2:00pm in the Chapel at Henderson and Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel and Crematory, with the Rev. Randy Lambert and Mr. Kevin Duke officiating. Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery with military honors rendered by the American Legion Post #5 Honor Guard.
The family will be receive at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel and Crematory on Monday, August 11, 2014, from 12 noon until the service hour. At other hours, the family may be reached at their respective residence.
Pallbearers will be members of the Shrine Motor Corp. and they are asked to assemble at Henderson and Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel and Crematory on Monday at 1:30P.M.
Henderson and Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel and Crematory, has charge of the funeral arrangements.

Mr. Stephen Eugene McClung, age 70, of Braselton, GA., died Monday, November 4, 2013.
Born July 2, 1943 in Rome, GA., he was a son of the late Grady Eugene McClung and Ila Teat McClung Cook.
He was a member of Blackshear Place Baptist Church in Oakwood, GA., and was a former member and had served as a deacon at the First Baptist Church in Toccoa, and at Bayleaf Baptist Church in Raleigh, N. C. Stephen was a 1973 University of Georgia graduate, and was a high school football official for 25 plus years. He served on the Toccoa Falls College Board of Trustees from 1998 until 2008 and was self-employed in the construction industry.
Family members include his wife, Sharron Boykin McClung; daughter and son-in-law, Jill and Barry Hamilton; sons and daughter-in-law, Heath McClung, and Travis and Sharon McClung; grandchildren, Kristin Pappas, Morgan Hamilton, Abby Hamilton, Emma McClung, Chase McClung, Breonna McClung, and Brock McClung; great-grandchildren, Aubrey Hamilton and Elijah Pappas; mother-in-law, Miriam Boykin Piper; sister and brother-in-law Judith and Charles W. Duke; and several nieces and nephews.
A Graveside service will be held at two o'clock Thursday, November 7, 2013 at Toccoa City Cemetery with Mr. Kevin Duke officiating.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Heath McClung, Travis McClung, Barry Hamilton, Charles Duke, David Purcell, and Pete Sackmann.
The family will receive friends at Whitlock Mortuary from 12 noon until the funeral hour on Thursday.
