John William Kidd, age 83, a native of Roanoke, Va., and resident of Fairhope, passed away Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011.
He was a former employee of Marriott's Grand Hotel, retiring in 2007. He was also well known as a local income tax preparer.

He is survived by his daughters, Kay (David) Jolley of Germantown, Tenn., Becky (Butch) Hedgepath of Fairhope and Suzanne (Scooter) Parish of Madison, Ala; eight grandchildren, Laura (Nathan) Oppenheimer, Kristen (Joshua) Eargle, Carrie (Marcus) Walker, Ryan (Shandus) Parish, Alex (Elizabeth) Hedgepath, Nathan Jolley, Caitlin Parish and Natalie Jolley; two great-grandchildren, Evan Oppenheimer and Kourtney Eargle; many other relatives and friends.

Graveside services and interment will be held in Memory Gardens of Fairhope, Monday, Aug. 8, 2011, at 2 p.m.
