CENTERBURG, Ohio ? Hobart M. Powell, age 83, of Centerburg, Ohio, died Wednesday June 24, 2009 at St. Ann's Hospital.

He was preceded in death by wife, Geraldine "Gracie" Powell; sisters, Dorothy Walls and Mildred McKinney; brother, Richard. He is survived by daughter, Melody (Mike); loving caregivers; brother, H.C. (Barbara) Powell; sisters, Ruth Copley and Elizabeth (Ralph) Campbell; brothers, Tommy and Danny (Patsy); other relatives and friends.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, World War II. A memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 31, 2009 at Fanning Funeral Home, Iaeger, W.Va. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Knox Co. Hospice., 17700 Coshocton Rd. Mount Vernon, OH 43050.
