    OBITUARY

    ROBERT INGLES PARKINS 60, who was in charge of mechanical services at the National Dry Cleaning Institute where he had worked since the 1970's died of cancer Jan. 25 at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital. He lived in Gaithersburg.

    Mr. Parkins was born in Dickerson. He served with the Army in World War II, participating in the invasions of Normandy and Salerno. After returning from the war, he worked on the family farm in Montgomery County until the late 1950's, then operated earth-moving and landscaping business in the county, before joining the institute. He was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Poolesville.

    Survivors include three brothers, John A. of Newark, Del., William S. Jr. of San Antonio and James F. of Wheaton.
