OBITUARY

Porter County Vidette; 14 September 1876

Hebron Items.

Died, on the 9th inst., Mrs. James Rice, five miles north-west of Hebron. Funeral services at the M. E. church in Hebron last Sunday. The sermon was preached by Rev. F. Cox. It was the longest funeral procession we have seen for a long time. She leaves a husband and a little girl about three years old to mourn their loss.

Bertha Rice Boerlin, Former Hebron Resident, Dies in LaGrange, III.

Bertha Rice Boerlin, wife of the late August J. Boerlin, was born in Hebron, Nov 26, 1873, the daughter of James V. and Elizabeth Malcolm Rice. She died March 11, 1948 at her home in LaGrange, IN.

She is survived by a sister, Lucie R. Cook, and a brother, Dr. C. M. Rice, five nephews and a niece.

Funeral Services were held at 2 pm, Saturday, March 13, in LaGrange. Interment was in Hebron.
