    Ms. Margaret Lorraine Boyd Oakley, 83, of 107 Oak Park Lane, Mount Airy, passed away Sunday morning, May 16, 2010, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem.

    Ms. Oakley was born October 22, 1926, in McDowell County, WV, daughter of the late Jasper Percy and Mary Leanna Belton Boyd. She retired from Spencer?s Inc. after 44 years of service and was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness faith.

    She is survived by a daughter, Sue Oakley of Mount Airy; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Billy and Myra Oakley and Ricky Oakley, all of Mount Airy; two grandchildren and their spouses, Nicky and Mitchell Kemp and Michael Lloyd and Tara Vernon, all of Mount Airy; two stepgrandchildren, Sasha Lauren Reddic of Wilmington and Kirbi Noel Reddic of Greensboro; two great-grandchildren, Madison Hunter Vernon and Talan Schade Vernon, both of Mount Airy; a sister, Ruby Timmons of Mount Airy; and several special nieces and nephews.

    In addition to her parents, Ms. Oakley was preceded in death by a sister, Basco Dixon; and two brothers, Coy Boyd and William Boyd.

    A memorial service will be held Wednesday, May 19, 2010, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Gary Timmons and Dr. Craig Edwards officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
