OBITUARY

ROXBORO - Mrs. Gloria Ann Poore, age 79, of 139 Deacon Drive, Timberlake, died Wednesday morning, October 31, 2007, at her home. She was retired from Elkton Fashions as a seamstress.

Surviving are two daughters, Katherine Hoops and Patricia Smith; one son, Charles Michael Shrewsbury; and two brothers, Daniel Snead and William Snead.

Funeral services will be conducted at 6 p.m. Friday, November 2, in the Strickland Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be Saturday, November 3, in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, West Virginia.

The family will receive friends Friday, November 2, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Strickland Funeral Home.

Arrangements are by Strickland Funeral Home.

The funeral for Gloria Ann Poore, 79, of 139 Deacon Dr., Timberlake, who died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2007 at her home, was conducted at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, in the Strickland Funeral Home Chapel, in Roxboro, NC, by the Rev. Chris Sorensen. Burial will be today, Nov. 3, in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, W. Va.

Mrs. Poore was a native of Corrine, W. Va., the daughter of the late James Errie and Jenny Davis Snead. Her late husband of 21 years was Harry Stanley Poore. Her late daughter was Freida Riley, and her late son was James Snead.

She was a seamstress, retired from Elkton Fashions.

Surviving are two daughters, Katherine Hoops of Fayetteville and Patricia Smith and husband, John, of North East, Md.; a son, Charles Michael Shrewsbury and wife, Patricia, of Newark, Del.; and two brothers, Daniel Snead of Baltimore, Md. and William Snead of Mt. Hope, W. Va.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
