    Note: Mother's name is given as Dessie Cole, who was Joshua Day's first wife, rather than Julia Christian. The 1900 Census for McDowell Co. has Julia living with her son, George Robert Day. It lists Julia as having had one child and the child is living, who is her son, George Robert. Given this evidence, it appears Mary Jane may be the daughter of Joshua Day and Narcissa Cole.
