- William and his family moved to Washington Co., Georgia sometime before1805. He registered to obtain land in Washington County in Georgia's 1805 Land lottery. The Courthouses in Barnwell County, South Carolina and Washington County, Georgia were burned during the Civil War, making research difficult.
William Henry and his brother James were enumerated with the1820 census, page 146 for Washington County, Georgia. No 33,roll 9
A Washington County, Georgia newspaper dated January 15, 1830shows: "Administrator, James Castellaw advertising the sale of perishable property of the William H. Castellow" estate sale set for February 25, 1830. James was appointed administrator of his deceased father's estate. Book A, 1829-1876, page 17.
