Additional children are Davis Chambers and Allyfair, both less than a year old. 1860 Census, Tazewell Co. VA, Cedar Bluff, John Chambers is living in the household of his mother Nancy, with his sister Joannah, Douglas Chambers, age 3 [John's son Douglas Rees Chambers], and Caladina Chambers [Clarissa Shortridge, John's wife], age 15. Could this be the same John Chambers. NFR - no further record 1870 Census Buchanan Co. VA, Garden District, household 18, John T. Chambers, age 27, farmer, able to read and write. I household is Clarissa, his wife, age 25 and children: Reese, age 7; Nancy, age 4; and Oscar, age 1. His mother Nancy, and sister Johanna and her son William live next door to them in household 19. 1870 Census Buchanan Co. VA, Garden District, household 59, John Chambers, age 38, farmer, along with Clarissa, his wife, age 35 and children Reese, age 16; Nancy J., age 14; Oscar, age 8; Thomas, age 7; Josephine, age 4; and Lydia C., age 2; and his mother Nancy, age 73. Also living in the household was A. Compton, a white male age 22 who is listed as a servant.
