  Notes	OBITUARY SWORDS CREEK, Va. - Mrs. Emma Elizabeth McGlothlin, age 82, passed away Friday, June 27, 2003, at her home. Born March 5, 1921, in Buchanan County, Va., she was a daughter of the late Noah and Dovie Sanders Shortridge. A lifelong resident of the Buchanan and Russell county areas, she was a member of the Fletcher Ridge Primitive Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larkin McGlothlin; one daughter, Betty Rose; one son, Teddy McGlothlin; two sisters, Mary Haggerman and Margaret Childress; and five brothers, Roy Shortridge, Ira Shortridge, Henry Shortridge, Luther Shortridge and Carl Shortridge. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Douglas and Anna McGlothlin of Swords Creek and James and Geneva McGlothlin of Honaker; three daughters and sons-in-law, Dorothy and Phillip Herndon, Kathy and Danny Crutchfield and Opal and David Gildart, all of Swords Creek; one stepson and daughter-in-law, Chester and Myrtle McGlothlin of Council, Va.; three sisters, Virgie Taylor of Abingdon, Sylvia Wilson of Roanoke and Julie Gonzalez of California; one brother, George Shortridge of Rowe, Va.; nine grandchildren; and several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, with Elder Franklin Viers and Elder Price Viers officiating. Interment will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Va. Pallbearers will be Steven Herndon, Phillip Herndon, Keith Richardson, Garland Shortridge, Bilford Shortridge and Darrell McGlothlin. Honorary pallbearers will be Donald Richardson and Herman McGlothlin. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Fletcher Ridge Primitive Baptist Church. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Carol Messick and Hospice and Palliative Care of Grundy. Friends may call at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6 p.m. Saturday.
