Born in Buchanan County, she was a daughter of the late Lorenza Dow and Laura Fuller Hale. She lived in Swords Creek for the past 39 years, coming from Buchanan County In 1950. She was a member of the Swords Creek Pentecostal Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert 'Poppy' McGlothlin. Survivors: three daughters Carmie Clark. Dorothy VanDyk and Sylvia VanDyke, all of Honaker; five sons. Nelson McGlothlin of Rosedale, Carson McGlothlin of Rowe, Clinton McGlothlin of Honaker, Herman and Ferrell McGlothlin, both of Swords Creek; two sisters, Mae Osborne of Tazewell and Fay Wilson of Flint. MI; brother, Therman Hale of Richlands; 29 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren The funeral was held Dec. 9 at 2 p.m. at Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Carl Robinson and Ancil Childress officating. Entombment followed in Greenhills Memory Garden Mausoleum in Claypool Hill.
