"BUD" DARNLEY NEWPORT NEWS - C.L. "Bud" Darnley, 75, died on Monday, April 10, 1995. A native of Jenkins, Ky., he was a Peninsula resident most of his life. Mr. Darnley retired in 1990 as a real estate developer after 50 years of service. He was formerly a member of Noland Memorial United Methodist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Donna D. Kerr of Charlotte, N.C., and Cathy Stuman of Newport News; two sons, Cambridge L. Darnley III of Mundelein, Ill., and John B. Darnley of York County; his brother, James H. Darnley of Altoona, Fla.; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Mays Darnley. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Friday in Peninsula Memorial Park. The family will be at the residence of his son, John B. Darnley in York County. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Howell's Lakeview Group Home, 5927 Lakeview Drive, Charlotte, N.C. 28210, in care of Mary Dawn Jones. Peninsula Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
