OBITUARY
Rudolph Maxwell Taylor, age 83, of Pounding Mill, Virginia passed away on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 in a local Tazewell Hospital following a brief illness.
He was born in Jewell Ridge, Virginia and was the son of the late James Howard and Dora Burress Taylor. He was a graduate of the Richlands High School Class of 1948. He served his country in the U.S. Army and he later retired from the railroad as a General Yard Master in Richlands, Virginia. He was a loving father, brother and friend. Rudolph was a lifelong resident of the Tazewell County area.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lillie Coleman Taylor and one sister, Peggy E. Elliott.
He is survived by his daughter, Teresa Gaye Taylor of Richlands, VA; son, Rudolph David Taylor of Morgan City, Louisiana; two sisters Charlotte T. Jones of Ashland, VA, and Kay T. Allison and husband Bill of Tazewell, VA; brother, Harry David Taylor of Pounding Mill, VA;
special Friend, Joe Scarberry also survives him along with several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
A Graveside service will be conducted at 12:00 pm on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at the Greenhills Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Claypool Hill, Virginia with the Casey Shortt VFW Post #9640 conducting military graveside rites. A one hour visitation will be held from 11:00- 12:00 pm on Thursday afternoon at the Greenhills Memory Gardens Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
