Sorrels, Sr.,58, of the Harriston community, died Monday, December 15, 1986, at Waynesboro Community Hospital. He was born April 30, 1928, at Montebello and was a son of the late Andy and Mattie Sorrels. He has been a barber 20 years with the G&S Barbershop but most recently had been employed by Hollister Inc. in Stuarts Draft. He served in the Air Force 1947-50. Surviving are his wife, Stella Knicely Sorrels; two daughters, Brenda A. Eppard of Minot, N.D. and Darlene S. Ralston of Harriston; three sons, Thurman E. Sorrels, Jr., Michael V. Sorrels and Mitchell V. Sorrels, all of Harriston; a brother, Andy G. Sorrels, Jr. of Richmond; and four grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday at Etter Funeral Home in Waynesboro by the Rev. Richard S. Weaver. Burial with military rites by the Stuarts Draft Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9339 will be in Augusta Memorial Park in Waynesboro. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. The family said contributions may be made to Grottoes Rescue Squad.
