Born Sept 10 1916 at Whitewood,Va. she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Mae Cole Elrod. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Honaker. Survivors: daughter, Juanita Shortt and son-in-law, Tommy, of Richlands; grandson, Martin Short and wife, Jean, of Bryan, OH; great-grandchildren, Windi Whited, Katelynn Short and Joshua Short; two step-great-grandchildren; sisters, Naomi Horn and Mildred Patrick, both of Whitewood; and special niece, Joyce (Sue) Horn of Whitewood. The funeral will be conducted Aug. 16 2000 at 2 p.m. in Singleton Funeral Service Chapel at Cedar Bluff with Rev. Troy Lester and Rev. David Horton officiating. Burial will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Aug. 15 from 6-9 p.m
