 Hilger H. Giddens was born in Eldon March 15, 1909 & spent practically all of his life in the community where he was well liked & favorably known, he died in a hospital in Kansas City Nov. 21, 1942. The body was brought here from Kansas City & lay in state at the Kays funeral home until Sunday afternoon at 2:00 O'clock when the funeral service was held at the Eldon Baptist Church by the Pastor Rev. C.E. Hendricks.
 
 Aug. 1, 1928 Mr. Giddens was married to Miss Gladys Wright in Kansas City. To them two children were born, Eileen & Gen, who along with Mrs. Giddens his companion survive. He is also survived by three brothers, Curtis & Oral Giddens of Kansas City & Clarence Giddens of Jefferson City, & his two sisters Viola Long of Crocker, Mo. & Miss Emma Giddens of Kansas City.
 
 About 12 years ago, Mr. Giddens was converted, became a member of the Eldon Baptist Church, lived a consecrated christian life, & member of the church until his death. When he realized the end of his life was near, he testified that he was ready to go & revealed at one time he believed he was called to preach. Interment was made at the Allen Cemetery.
