Ms. Holyfield was born in Stokes County on December 20, 1938 to Arlis Wendell and Pauline Cook Vipperman. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend to so many. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Fred Caudle of Mt. Airy; a son, Lanney Holyfield of the home; grandchildren, Cindy H. Lorish and husband Brian; Adam Holyfield, Jeremy Wilson and girlfriend Amy; great grandchildren, Brittany and Blake Kornbrust; her ex-husband and very special friend, James Holyfield; sisters and brothers-in-law, Phyllis and Alton Clement, Judy and Raeford Gammons and RuthCarol Vipperman; brothers and a sister-in-law, Kelly and Becky Vipperman and Teddy Vipperman and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, Ms. Holyfield was preceded in death by a brother Oza Vipperman and a nephew Andy Vipperman. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Asbury Pentecostal Holiness Church by Rev. Barry Clement. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home from noon until the time to depart for the cemetery. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials be sent to 888 Sheep Farm Rd., Mt. Airy, to assist with funeral expenses.
