He was a lifelong resident of Raleigh County, a construction worker with Vipperman Construction Co., and a retired vice president and general manager of Meadows Lumber Co. He was a member of Bolt Church of God, past master of Beckley Masonic Lodge #95, and was a Navy veteran of World War II. Also surviving: mother, Virgie Hager Vipperman Shrewsbury of Beckley; sisters, Gloria Shuff and Joyce Groseclose, both of Beckley; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild. Service will be 1 p.m. Monday at Melton Mortuary, Beckley, with the Rev. Randall Pugh officiating. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity. Masonic graveside rites will be conducted by Beckley Masonic Lodge #95. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
