Ronnie Nelson Anderson
A celebration of life was held for former Sequim resident Ronnie Nelson Anderson, who died Nov. 18, 2011, in Cheyenne, Wyo., at the age of 71.
He was born on May 21, 1940, in Mocksville, N.C., and grew up in Winston-Salem, N.C. He attended Davidson College and graduated from the University of North Carolina/Chapel Hill in 1962 as a Phi Beta Kappa. He earned a Ph.D. in finance in 1972. He taught at the University of Wisconsin/Madison, where he met his wife, Suzanne, and later taught at the University of Maryland/College Park.
After he left teaching, he worked first in research at the Treasury Department and then as director of research for the Trust Department of Equitable Trust Bank in Baltimore, Md. After retirement, the family moved to Sequim. He moved to Cheyenne in 2010.
Mr. Anderson is survived by his son, Whittaker Wilmeth Anderson, his friend and former wife, Suzanne Wilmeth Anderson, both of Cheyenne; sister-in-law, Linda Anderson, Clemmons, N.C.; a niece, nephew-in-law and grand-niece.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Anderson.
