Notes	Excerpt from "Tate Families of Southern States" by Metzel and Updike, 1972 "Son of Jahiel Douglas and Sarah Price Tate. He was listed by C. Durnil as one of the sons of Douglas and Sarah. He said Philander Tate visited my grandmother Louisa Adaline Tate Tally in Cooper county, MO one time. He married Louise E., born June 1857 in MO. It is thought this is the Phil. Tate who had a son, born about 1874 called M. B. Tate said to be about 82 in 1953 in Fort Payne, AL, knew they were related to the Aaron Tate family but distantly.*" Roubidaux Township, Texas County, MO. Reference: Family record by Clyde E.
