Graveside services for Jesse Christian, 86 year old former Tarkio resident who has been in St. Joseph the past 15 years were conducted here at Home Cemetary on Monday afternoon. He died Saturday in a St. Joseph nursing home. The officiating minister was the Rev. Robert Stahmer, United Presbyterian Church, pastor. Born near Tarkio, Mr. Christian was the son of James Christian and Mary Ann Tate Christian, youngest in a family of five children. His date of birth was 4 July 1872. He engaged in farming and later moved to Minnesota where he was a partner in a hardware business with a nephew. He never married. In addition to his parents, there brothers and two sisters preceded him in death. There are no immediate survivors. Will Tate, of Tarkio, is a cousin of Mr. Christian.
