The family was in Henry County, Georgia on August 28, 1850 when W. H. is listed as a silversmith.
Records from the journal of Dr. Samuel B. Dickinson written during 1851 and 1852 show William purchased a roan mare for$30.00 and had Dr. Sam treat Colquit in early 1852 for an illness. Colquit would have been about 5 years old.
The grave site of William was located in 1994 by Nan Strode Drozd, a great granddaughter of William H. Castellow's sister,Martha Jane "Dolly" Castellow Garner, in what is called The Mount Olive Cemetery, southwest of Mount, Lavaca County, Texas. Dates of birth and death are shown on the badly broken gravestone. Located near William H. Castellow is the grave stone of his younger brother, Francis M. Castellow.
