    Notes:

He is referred to as Richard Hardy of "Hounslow Beacon" in the 1665 Visitations of Yorkshire, written 28 Aug 1665 by the College of Arms in London who maintain genealogy records of all families of nobility. The book was in a volume printed in 1724.

Hounslow is a Borough of London, in the western part of the city, in the historic county of Middlesex, and the principal town is Hounslow. In Richard's time the town was an important staging post on the Bath Road, and later developed a reputation as the haunt of highwaymen and footpads.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hounslow#History

The area in the town that may have been called Beacon likely has been taken over for Heathrow Airport as there is a Beacon Road next to the airport.

Hounslow Heath is a 200 acre nature reserve in the London Borough of Hounslow and shows what the area would have looked like during Richard's time before he left for Virginia.

However this information from the above source may not be accurate.

One Hardy researcher reported the 1665 Visitations of Yorkshire does not give the name of John's parents, on "blank Hardy, sometime Lord Mayor of London." This person spent 55 years researching the Hardy family in the original records both in Isle of Wight and in Bedforshire and Yorkshire. He sent me a copy of the record as written 28 Aug 1665 by the College of Arms in London who maintain genealogy records of all families of nobility. The book was in a volume printed in 1724.

Michael married Allison (Alice) SKELTON 14 Oct 1565, Setterington, Yorkshire, England. Allison (daughter of DE SKELTON) was born Abt 1532. [Group Sheet]

    Notes:

    Name:
It has been given as Shelton through a transcription error. One Hardy researcher reported the 1665 Visitations of Yorkshire listed the name of the wife of Michael Hardy as Alison Skelton, not Shelton. This person spent 55 years researching the Hardy family in the original records both in Isle of Wight and in Bedforshire and Yorkshire. He sent me a copy of the record as written 28 Aug 1665 by the College of Arms in London who maintain genealogy records of all families of nobility. The book was in a volume printed in 1724. The document clearly shows her name as Skelton.

Also, this document does not give the name of Michael Hardy's parents other than "blank Hardy, sometime Lord Mayor of London."
