    Notes:

The name of William's wife is unknown, though "Drake in England", p. 82, states that he must have been married before 1465. In turn, it is likely that the latest possible year of his birth is 1445. Among his Court entries was one in which he was presented (May 22, 1483) for not doing his office as ale taster and was fined 2d. When his lands were seized following his death, it was learned that, contrary to his tenure and to the loss of the Queen, he had sold two acres of timber in "Grangerysgrove."

    Notes:

Edmund was presented to the Court on May 23, 1415 and June 11, 1416 for living in the lordship and not being sworn in tithing. Since he most likely was of age by those dates, it is plausible to conclude that he was born prior to 1395. In the Court held on May 2, 1420 it was determined, since his father had died, that Edmund was the next son and heir and was of full age. His name was mentioned regularly in the Court Rolls, the last being on October 17, 1471 when it was stated that jurors found that he had died since the prior Court

    p. 75: "Joan Drake...was presented for the assizes of bread and ale between 1424 and 1438 and, at the Court held on June 8, 1441 as 'a common scold and disturber of the peace.' She survived her husband, to whose lands she had the reversion according to the terms of his death-bed surrender, and it was reported to the Court on August 28, 1481 that she had died since the previous Court." Based on these court dates, it is evident that she was married no later than 1424 and was very likely born no later than 1408.
