    November 25th. Andrew Overby, carpenter, fell overboard from seventh span bridge, James river, and was drowned. Was standing on abutment at east end bridge keeping drift-wood from accumulating, a heavy log striking against end of his pole threw him into the stream.

    Andrew Overby, who accidentally slipped through the Richmond & Danville railroad bridge and drowned, while assisting to save that structure during the great freshet in James River in 1877;

    A complete set of tools of a fellowcraft was presented to the Lodge December 27, 1867, by Andrew Overby and Thomas Allgood, who were voted thanks by the Lodge. These working tools are still in possession of the Lodge.

    Since he witnessed a 12 Jan 1802 grantee deed (York Co. deeds 183:147.) for his father, he would have been at least 21 and most likely born by 1780.

    Probably died in Waterboro after 14 Mar 1823 when he signed a conditional deed (York Co. Deed 112:72)

Deed 112:72); m. "of Waterboro" Shapleigh 8 Sept 1803 (Vital Records) NANCY WARREN, b. Shapleigh 1775-1784, (1810-20 censuses), daughter of Aaron and Keziah (Huntress) Warren, probably d. 1821-1823.

    He witnessed an 1802 deed (York Co. Deed 83:147) and received along with Joseph Russell, both of Waterboro, rights of usage in an Alfred sawmill, 5 Nov 1810 (York Co. Deed 83:148). Census records indicate that Clement and Nancy had at least five boys and two girls. Their son Warren, born 1821, is described as an orphan at an early age.
