Alfred Tipton

Alfred Ray Tipton, 53, 2105 Lucinda Rd., died at 10:30 p.m. Thursday at Holston Valley Community Hospital after several months illness.

He was born in Gate City, Va., had spent most of his life in Kingsport and had been an employee of the Kingsport Power Company for 28 years. He was a member of the Fellowship Freewill Baptist Church and a member of the Vermont Ruritan Club.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Nina Tipton, of the home; two sons, Alfred Tipton Jr. and James W. (Jay) Tipton, both of the home; mother, Mrs. W. A, Tipton, Kingsport; two sisters, Mrs. Ted (Gaynell) Ketron, Fall Branch, Mrs. John (Mabel) Donihe, Kingsport'; two brothers, Robert Lee Tipton, Gray, Tenn., Bill Joe. Tipton, Kingsport; three nieces and six nephews. Carter's Chapel Funeral Home is in charge.
