MRS. EDITH S. STOWERS

Funeral services for Mrs. Edith Shinall Stowers, 44,
of Gillsville, GA, formerly of Richlands, who died in an
automobile accident Monday, July 16, were conducted Saturday at Tazewell County Funeral Home chapel in Cedar
Bluff with Rev. Clarence Dishman officiating. Burial followed in Hankins Cemetery at Richlands.

Born in Tazewell County, she was a daughter of Mrs. Pearl Bailey Joyce of Richlands and the late Robert Henry Joyce.
Additional survivors include two sons, Mike Shinall of Pullman, WA and Kenneth Stowers of Lewiston, ID; one
sister, Mrs. Alice Webb of Paradise Pines, CA: two
brothers, Dan and Jimmy R. Joyce, both of Cuyhoga Falls, OH; one grandchild and five step-grandchildren. Friends served as pallbearers.

ROBERT HENRY JOYCE

Robert Henry Joyce, age 66, of Richlands, passed away at his home here Sunday afternoon. A veteran of World War I, and a retired coal miner, he was a member of the First
Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Pearl Bailey Joyce; two daughters, Mrs. Alice Elizabeth Webb of Stockton, Cal., and Mrs. Edith Shinall of Grangeville, Idaho; two sons, Dan and Jimmy Joyce of Akron, Ohio; a stepson, Jason Davis of the home; a sister, Mrs. Arthur Horton of Richlands and eight grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Thursday (today) at 2:00 p.m. at the Farmer Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. E. E. Chafin and Rev. S. O. Frye officiating. Interment will follow in the Hankins Cemetery.

MRS. PEARL MAE DAVIS JOYCE

RICHLANDS, VA. -- Mrs. Pearl Mae Davis Joyce, 94, of
Richlands, died Friday at a Tazewell, Va. hospital. Born in Russell County, she was a daughter of the late
Edward Burke and Ida Alice Strouth Bailey. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Richlands. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jason Davis, Sr.; her second husband, Robert H. Joyce; one daughter, Edith Shinall Stowers; one son, Dan B. Joyce; and three brothers and four sisters.

Survivors: daughter, Mrs. Ivan (Alice) Webb of Richlands;
sons, Jason Davis, Jr. of Tazewell and Jimmie R. Joyce of
Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; sister, Katherine Griffith of Elkton,
MD; eight grandchildren, one step granddaughter, 10 great-
grandchildren and three step great-grandsons.

The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Singleton Funeral Chapel in Cedar Bluff, Va., with the Rev. Kenneth Perkins officiating, and burial at the Hankins Cemetery in Richlands. Friends may call after 6 p.m. today at the funeral service. The family requests contribu-
tions be made to the Richlands First United Methodist or the
Cedar Bluff United Methodist Church.
