OBITUARY
Alfred Wilson Turnbull, 84, of Claremore, Oklahoma passed away April 22, 2015 in Tulsa. He was born in Henryetta, Oklahoma on January 26, 1931 to John and Nellie (Tate) Turnbull.
He is survived by his daughter: Vicky Moline; grandchildren, Aaron and Vanessa Moline; brother, William Turnbull and a host of other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, Eva; his parents and siblings, John Turnbull, Jr., James Turnbull, Dorothy Shaffer and Hattie Turnbull.
A memorial mass will be held 11:00am, Saturday, May 2, 2015 at St. Henry Catholic Church in Owasso.

John's older brother, Archibald Turnbull, immigrated in 1907 to Henryetta. He was also a miner. Their parents were John Turnbull and Janet Borland.
Birth:
Hurlford is a village in East Ayrshire, Scotland. Including Crookedholm. The town developed rapidly in the 19th century, following the discovery of coal.
In 1908 there was a mine explosion at the Portland Colliery Company, Ltd., Kilmarnock, Ayrshire in which 4 men from Hurlford were killed and two were injured. Mining conditions and economic opportunity may have been the reason for John and his brother to emigrate from Scotland to America.
