    OBITUARY

    Everett Leroy Fink, 92, a resident of Independence, Kansas, formerly of Fredonia, Kansas, died Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at Regal Estates in Independence.

    He was born August 2, 1920 in Fredonia, the son of Everett D. and Eva M. (Black) Fink. Everett was a graduate of Fredonia High School and was an insurance agent for Metropolitan Life Insurance for 20 years.

    Everett was united in marriage to Helen Chapman and she preceded him in death. On February 14, 2003 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, he married Maxine Goodwin Warner. Maxine also preceded him in death. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Fredonia and the Life Underwriters Association.

    His survivors include: One daughter: Beth Ann Osborn of Independence, KS Three grandchildren and one great grandchild. His son, David Fink and brother, Clyde Fink also preceded him in death.

    Cremation has taken place and a private inurnment will be in the Fredonia City Cemetery. A memorial has been established in Everetts name with the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, and contributions can be sent to or left at the funeral home.

    INDEPENDENCE - Helen Chapman Fink, 81, Independence and formerly of Fredonia, died Friday, Oct. 25, 2002, at her home.

    She was born Nov. 13, 1920, in rural Altoona, the daughter of Harry G. and Iva Dannels Chapman.

    She was a 1939 graduate of Fredonia High School.

    She was a homemaker and mother.

    She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Fredonia, Neodesha and Independence. She had served as a Girl Scout leader and Cub Scout den mother. She was involved in 4-H and was a blue ribbon baker at the state fair.

    She enjoyed genealogy.

    On Feb. 23, 1941, she married Everett L. Fink in Fredonia. He survives.

    Other survivors include a son, David Fink, Independence; a daughter, Beth Ann Fink-Osborn, also of Independence; a sister, Louise Nunn-Cox, Gabbs, Nev.; a brother, Harry Chapman, Fredonia; three grandchildren, one step-grandchild and one great-grandchild.

    Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, at Fredonia City Cemetery, led by the Rev. Randy Handly.

    Visitation will be from 10 a.m. - noon Wednesday, Oct. 30, at the funeral home.

    Memorials are suggested to the Kansas State University Basic Cancer Research and may be left with the funeral home.

    Timmons Funeral Home, Fredonia, is in charge of arrangements.
