Ted Allen Baldwin, age 75 of Cedar Bluff, Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at the Lonesome Pine Hospital in Norton, Virginia following a lengthy illness. He was born in Buchanan County and was the son of the late Watts and Eunice Wade Baldwin, former Buchanan County natives. He was a miner at the Beatrice Mine in Oakwood, and later retired from Island Creek Coal Company. He was also a proud member of the UMWA Local # 1374. He spent most of his life in the Cedar Bluff area and attended the Calvary Temple Church in Richlands, Virginia.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Ola Gay Arnold; 4 brothers, Shirley, D.C., Norman and Bane Baldwin.

Those remain to carry on his spirit are His loving wife, Pansy Deloris Ball of Cedar Bluff, VA; His three daughters
Judy Kay Ratliff and husband, Eddie of Swords Creek, VA, Diana Lynn Cline and husband, Ricky of Raven, VA, Allene Faith Smith and husband, Craig of Wardell, VA; Sisters Ruth Meadows and husband, Ed of Ohio, Wanda Griffith and husband, Russell of Richlands, VA, Inez Kinbrell of Doran, VA; Brothers Sherman Baldwin and wife, Joy of Tazewell, VA,
Marty Baldwin of Raven, VA; Eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and a host of family of friends also survive him. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services for Ted Allen Baldwin will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Friday, August 31, 2012 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Clarence Lowe and Rev. Grady McGlothlin officiating. Interment will follow at the Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, VA. Pallbearers will be David Baldwin, Michael Baldwin, Rick Kinbrell, David Elkins, Todd Elkins, Scott Elkins, Rick Shelton and Eddie Baldwin. Honorary pallbearers will be Dale Ratliff, Ben Ratliff, Dalton Smith, Keith Elkins and Rufus Baldwin. Friends may call after 6:00 pm on Thursday evening at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia.

DORAN, Va. Mrs. Eunice Wade Baldwin, 102, of Doran, left for her heavenly home on Monday, May 22, 2006 from Tazewell Community Hospital.

She was born Oct. 14, 1903 in Tazewell County, Va., to the late Walter and Molly Wade. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother to her family. She devoted her entire life as a homemaker and mother to her 11 children. She was faithful to her church, her faith in God and her family. She was loved by all who knew her.

Mrs. Baldwin was preceded in death by her husband, John G. Watts Baldwin; one daughter, Ola Gay Arnold; four sons, Bane, D.C., Norman and Shirl Baldwin; two brothers, Rufus "Peach" Wade and Carl Wade; two sisters, Edith Smith and Stella Gillespie; one granddaughter, Patty Jean Baldwin; and one great-granddaughter, Kimberly Diane Baldwin.

She is survived by three daughters, Inez Kimbrell, widow of the late Don Kimbrell of Raven, Va., Ruth Meadows and husband Ed of Fredericktown, Ohio, and Wanda Griffith and husband Russell of Richlands, Va.; three sons, Ted Baldwin and wife Pansy of Cedar Bluff, Va., Sherman Baldwin of Tazewell, Va., and Marty Baldwin of Doran; two sisters, Gladys Boyd of Richlands and Vinnie Newberry of Newport News, Va. Also, surviving are 27 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren and 18 great, great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great, great nieces and nephews, as well as a host of friends.

Homegoing celebration will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 26, 2006 at Singleton Funeral Service Chapel in Cedar Bluff with the Rev. Eddie Baldwin, the Rev. Danny Bostic and the Rev. Clarence Lowe officiating. Burial will follow in the Tom Chambers Cemetery at Shortt Gap, Va. Grandsons and great grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends anytime at the home of Inez Kimbrell, 225 Raven Circle, Raven, Virginia and today, May 25 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Singleton Funeral Service in Cedar Bluff.
