OBITUARY

Mary Johnston Brady, 94, of Lexington, died on Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at her home. She was born on September 16, 1918, in Rockbridge County, a daughter of the late James Granville Johnston and Lora Shafer Johnston. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas E. Brady. Mrs. Brady was a member of the Lexington Presbyterian Church where she was very active in the Presbyterian Women of the Church and knitted for Missions. Mary also volunteered at the Jackson House and delivered meals to the shut-ins for many years.

Surviving are one daughter, Susan Brady and husband, Eben Ostby, of California; one brother, John W. Johnston, of Lexington; and one granddaughter, Fiona Ostby, of California.

A Graveside Service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 22, 2013, at Falling Spring Presbyterian Cemetery with the Dr. William Klein officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Arrangements are being handled by Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, Va., 540-463-2912.
