Notes:

Lived in Matewan, WV in his younger days. Always kept beautiful horses, sorrels in particular. Nancy Whitaker Tate remembers as a child when he lived on Raveness Branch near Cedar Bluff with his second wife, Harriet. He had many of his children after he divorced Vicie Brewster, and Nancy always thought they are Harriet's children. She remembers that Harriet was a good cook.

Charles later moved to Maxwell in Tazewell Co. and would ride his horse to visit Ella Pack Whitaker. Nancy also recalls that Charles was bitten by a copperhead that got into their house at Maxwell. In fact they were on their way to visit Charles and Harriet when the family had their car accident that almost killed her father Newt Whitaker and left him with a traumatic brain injury. Notes:

Phoebe did not marry the father of her children. His name does not appear on any of their marriage records or death certificates, except for her youngest child, Mollie Rosa Beavers Pack. Her husband, John Riley Pack, gave her father's name as Henry Harrison. John had been close friends with her older brother James F. Pack since they were teenagers, so he knew the family well. He is a likely reliable source.

Research in continuing on which Henry Harrison it is. At this time no DNA matches have been found from my mother on Ancestry with a Harrison cousin, so the father can't be confirmed.
