JAMES MEADOR [Wyatt's father] left WEALTHY and her children 162 acres of land along the Crooked Creek, which bounded land owned by FREDRICK SCRUGGS, JOHN H. AYRES, EDWARD B. FLOOD, and SMITH. This land became known as the "MEADOR HOME TRACT", and was sold on September 24, 1904 by WYATT S. MEADOR and his children, to WILLIAM A. SILVERY of Dillwyn, Virginia.

WYATT enlisted in the Confederacy in June 1862 with his two brothers. 57th Virginia Infantry. He was wounded at Gettysburg. About 1880, he and several of his children settled in Summerville, Nicholas County, West Virginia.

He bought 476 acres on Hunt's Creek in Buckingham, Co. from Powhatan Jones, in 1843. The farm was named Locust Grove. The house was story and a half set over an English cellar. During Reconstruction, cattle were slaughtered by thieves. When he tried to stop them, they threw rocks at him. He ran to a neighbor's house and was saved. His son assumed Thomas' debts. Wealthia moved to WV and her 2 remaining brothers followed.
