It appears Alice and her mother came to Massachusetts with her half brother, Henry Short, son of John Short and Joan Breeding, John's first wife. Henry was born in 1614, died 5 May 1673 in Newbury, Essex Co. MA. Henry married Sarah Glover and had two children, Henry and Sarah.

Coventry has not been proven. More likely she was born in Walberton, Sussex, England where her father was born and died.
