March 24, 1725, Gregory Rawlings by land grant obtained in what was Brunswick Co., VA, 250 acres in Surry County, which became Sussex Co later, on the South side of the Nottoway River. Brunswick Co. was authorized by the General Assembly of VA to be created in 1720.

Concerning land grants and patents: To Gregory Rawlings of Surry Co, 192 acres, Brunswick Co., south side of Rose's Creek March 17, 1736.
This may be the land that Wm Rawlings of Brunswick Co lived on. At least it is close to the area.
