    He was a member of the House of Burgesses in 1700. Owned land on the Mattoponi River. He was also the sheriff of King and Queen Co. and a Colonel in the county militia.

    Patented 560 acres next to Maj. Thomas Walker.
    Donated 40 acres of the Maj. Thomas Walker patent for the town of Walkerton.

    1705 Capt. John Walker gave 40 acres to establish the town of Walkerton for the use of the inhabitants. According to the 1704 rent rolls, he owned over 6,000 acres of land. He was the sheriff in 1700 and 1706, served in the House of Burgesses in 1704 and 1705, and served at a Lt. Col. in the county militia. He got another 650 acres next to his father's land on the north side of the river, and calling his estate "Rye Field."

    John married Rachel CROSHAW. Rachel (daughter of Capt. Richard Croshaw and Elizabeth Mallory) was born 1655. [Group Sheet]

    Write of Partition. 30th Sept, 1692. The Sheriff of York County ordered to impanel a Jury to divide 200 acres in Marston alias Bruton Parish. This land having been left to Elizabeth, widow of Rice Jones of York County, lately deceased, and Rachell wife of John Walker of King and Queen County, "sisters and co-heires of Benjamin Crotia, deceased, sonn of Mr: Richard Crotia likewise deceased." The 200 acres of land is described as adjoining the Indian field and now in occupation of Robert West.
    John and Rachel Walker having lately sold their half to Col. Edmund Jennings, the division is ordered.
